Meet the Doctor
Shawn E. Anderson, DDS
Doctor Anderson’s passion for providing a solution to his patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Sleep Disordered Breathing, Snoring, and Airway Management began more than 13 years ago when on a dental convention trip, he witnessed his good friend gasping for breath continually during his sleep, amidst his peeling off the paint of the walls with his chainsaw sounding snoring. The satisfaction he received in improving his friend’s health, quality of life and even to this day his good friend acknowledging that that gentle nudge to get his sleep apnea addressed as soon as he got home from that trip has saved his life.
Since beginning patient care in dental school at the University of Minnesota, to managing the Community Health Clinic in downtown, Minneapolis, to serving patients as a dentist since 1997 [over 24 years of expertise] in family dentistry, esthetic smile designs, TMJ treatment, to his Dental Sleep Medicine and Airway Management practice, he is proven to be highly competent in this specialized focus field of dentistry and medicine.
Doctor Anderson is one of the few local dentists who has completed the mini residency in Sleep Medicine at the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed the Sleep and Airway Continuum at Spear education, in addition to those trainings he has the blessing and privilege to be personally mentored by one of the leaders in Sleep and Airway education in Dr. John Tucker.
Doctor Anderson’s knowledge and experience treating Sleep Disordered Breathing, Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome, and Airway Compromise and Management and how to apply that knowledge in a clinical setting affords the patient with the best possible treatment outcomes. His advanced knowledge of how our biological system works also facilitates optimal care with the patient’s physician as well as maximizing medical insurance reimbursement for the patient. Perspective from Dr. Anderson:
“I am passionate and blessed when considering the amount of people that I can help. I have had people tell me that I have changed their lives. I have had people tell me that I have saved their lives! I appreciate the confidence patients put in me for their treatment and care, and I know that I can be their partner to success. I trust that we can do great things together.” Matt 20:28
